Netflix’s Assassin’s Creed series has begun filming in Italy. Production is expected to continue for the next few months, making a release before the end of this year unlikely; with cameras now rolling, the series is likely to stream in 2027.

The show is written for television by David Wiener and Roberto Patino and will follow a classic clash between Assassins and Templars. The cast includes Toby Wallace, Tanzyn Crawford and Lola Petticrew, though there is no word yet on when the series will be set.

Netflix has had a busy start to the year with projects such as The Rip, War Machine and the final batch of Bridgerton Season 4, as well as Steven Spielberg’s dinosaur documentary The Dinosaurs. More information is expected as filming continues in Italy.
