Netflix has blocked the 2017 neo-Western Wind River for subscribers on its ad-supported tier, mainly due to rights-related issues. The film stars Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen as two law enforcement officers investigating a murder on the Wind River Indian Reservation in Wyoming, and also features Jon Bernthal and Gil Birmingham.

Wind River received strong reviews, sitting at a "Certified Fresh" 87% critics' score and a 90% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, where the critics' consensus reads, "Wind River lures viewers into a character-driven mystery with smart writing, a strong cast, and a skillfully rendered setting that delivers the bitter chill promised by its title." The London Evening Standard’s Charlotte O’Sullivan wrote that it "leaves a bad smell." The movie grossed $45 million worldwide against a reported $11 million budget and served as the third installment of Sheridan’s Modern West trilogy, alongside Sicario and Hell or High Water.

Hell or High Water earned Sheridan an Academy Award nomination.
