Netflix Doubles Down on 'The Night Agent' Despite Season 3 Viewership Dip
Netflix has renewed The Night Agent for a fourth season despite a steady decline in viewership across its first three seasons. The show drew 20.6 million viewers in Season 1, 13.6 million in Season 2 and 8.6 million in Season 3 — a drop of more than 11 million since its 2023 debut.
Series creator Shawn Ryan confirmed that Netflix had already funded the start of a Season 4 writers' room before Season 3 was released.
The streamer says the next season will film in Los Angeles but has not provided a shooting timeline or release date. The series has tended to arrive on an almost yearly schedule, so a premiere before the end of next year remains possible, though production may need to work around lead actor Gabriel Basso’s growing commitments.
All three seasons of The Night Agent are available on Netflix.
