Netflix Reveals First Look, Release Date for Little House on the Prairie Reboot
Netflix has revealed a first look and set a premiere date of Jul. 9, 2026 for its reboot of Little House on the Prairie, 52 years after the original series began. The new adaptation is drawn from Laura Ingalls Wilder’s book series and follows a family growing up in the American West during the 1800s.
Rebecca Sonnenshine (The Boys) serves as showrunner for the latest version. Netflix has already renewed the series for a second season ahead of the first season’s release.
The original television run aired on NBC from 1974 to 1983 and involved directors such as Victor French and William F. Claxton and writers including Arthur Heinemann and Jeri Taylor. That earlier series is associated with performers Melissa Gilbert and Michael Landon, who portrayed Laura and Charles Ingalls.
Netflix released a first-look image with its announcement and indicated more details will follow.
