Movieweb reports Netflix has secured Hwang Dong-hyuk's new series The Dealer, a crime drama from Firstman Studio that centers on a casino dealer named Geonhwa.

The project follows "seasoned" dealer Geonhwa (played by Jung So-min), whose wedding plans "suddenly fall apart" because of a housing scam, "forcing her to unleash her long-hidden powers and plunge into the dangerous world of gambling in order to successfully make it down the aisle." The supporting cast includes Roo Seung-bum as Hwang Chisu, who joins Geonhwa in the casino underbelly, as well as Lee Soo-hyuk (Jo Jun) and Ryu Kyung-soo (Geonhwa's fiancé and detective Choi Wooseung).

The announcement comes about three months after Netflix added Ballad of a Small Player to its library. Separately, the Film & Television Industry Alliance listed Squid Game: America as a production filming in Los Angeles from February 26, 2026.
