Netflix to remove Bong Joon Ho’s Parasite after January 31, 2026
Collider reports Netflix has listed Bong Joon Ho’s Parasite as leaving the platform after January 31, 2026; the film’s Netflix page gives January 31, 2026 as the last day to watch, meaning it will not be available starting February 1, 2026. Often regarded as Bong's magnum opus, the South Korean thriller holds a Certified Fresh 99% on Rotten Tomatoes with a consensus saying Bong is "in near-total command of his craft" and that the film offers an "urgent, brilliantly layered look at timely social themes," and it has a Verified Hot 90% audience rating based on more than 5,000 ratings.
Parasite won the Academy Award for Best Picture at the 92nd Academy Awards, becoming the first non-English-language film to win that award, and also won Oscars for Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best International Feature Film; it was the first South Korean film to receive any Academy Award recognition and grossed $258.1 million worldwide on an $11.4 million budget.
