Netflix renews Emily in Paris for Season 6, series set to return to Paris
Movieweb reports that Netflix has renewed Emily in Paris for a sixth season, announcing the return in a YouTube video featuring star Lily Collins.
In the clip Collins appears in a selfie on a Paris balcony, leaning over a breakfast table with a croissant and blowing out a "6" candle; the caption said, "Home sweet home. Emily in Paris is returning for Season 6!" The renewal came eighteen days after Season 5 premiered on Dec. 18, 2025, a season that moved the title character to Rome.
The move to Rome drew controversy, which Collins described as a "political love triangle" involving French President Emmanuel Macron and Rome’s Mayor Roberto Gualtieri. Season 5 was the series' best-reviewed on Rotten Tomatoes at 76% but produced the worst audience score, highlighting a split between critics and viewers.
The renewal makes Emily in Paris one of Netflix's longest-running original series; the report notes Virgin River holds the longest run with an eighth season renewal, while Grace and Frankie and Orange Is the New Black ran seven seasons. The series, created by Darren Star, debuted on Oct. 2, 2020 and lists Darren Star as showrunner and Netflix as its network.
