Pcgamer reports Netflix has secured streaming rights to the live-action Legend of Zelda movie, an announcement made in a press release Thursday.

The release said the agreement reflects a continued partnership between Netflix and Sony Pictures Entertainment, with Sony set to distribute the film. It described the arrangement as part of a "landmark global Pay-1 licensing deal" and called it an "industry first."

The Pay-1 window is defined as the portion of a movie's rollout immediately after its theatrical run and home video release, meaning Netflix will stream the movie in that window. The project was first announced in 2023, and casting for a rumored trilogy has already begun.
