Netflix skating romance Finding Her Edge debuts among this week’s TV picks
Netflix’s ice-skating romance Finding Her Edge debuts this week as part of a New York Times roundup of shows airing and streaming Jan. 19–25. Adapted from Jennifer Iacopelli’s young‑adult novels, Finding Her Edge follows competitive skater Adriana Russo, played by Madelyn Keys, who must pretend to be in love with her on‑ice partner Brayden (Cale Ambrozic) for the sake of a sponsorship; the story is described as loosely based on Jane Austen’s Persuasion.
All eight episodes will be released together and the series begins streaming Thursday on Netflix. Other highlights in the column include Canada Shore, a Jersey Shore spinoff set in Kelowna, British Columbia, with a Snooki cameo (Paramount+, Thursday); Ryan Murphy’s The Beauty, starring Evan Peters and Ashton Kutcher (FX/Hulu, Wednesday at 9 p.m., first three episodes released at once); Steal, a six‑episode thriller led by Sophie Turner (Prime Video, Wednesday); and the 10th and final season of Queer Eye, five episodes on Netflix (Wednesday).
The column also notes Matty Matheson’s Just a Dash season three (Netflix, Tuesday) and the two‑part documentary Mel Brooks: The 99 Year Old Man (HBO/HBO Max, Thursday at 8 p.m.).
