Netflix’s Most Reliable ‘Bosch’ Successor Is Quietly Dominating Watchlists
With Paramount+ and Prime Video establishing a foothold in so-called dad-content through series like Yellowstone and Bosch, Netflix looked for a rival that could draw similar viewers and turned to the bestselling books of Michael Connelly. Bosch ran for seven seasons and spawned spin-offs: Bosch: Legacy has aired two seasons and will return for a third, while Ballard premiered last year and is set for a second season.
The Lincoln Lawyer, a legal drama based on Connelly’s Mickey Haller novels, returned this past week. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo stars as the titular lawyer who works in Los Angeles out of his Lincoln; Neve Campbell also appears. In the books Harry Bosch and Mickey Haller cross paths often, though that crossover has not yet happened on streaming.
The series was created by David E. Kelley. Critical response has been mostly positive. The show holds an overall 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and its third season scored a perfect 100%; the newly returned fourth season does not yet have an official score.
