Netflix's War Machine Is Alan Ritchson's Best Movie
War Machine, released on Netflix on Mar. 6, 2026, has climbed to the top of the streaming charts and is being called Alan Ritchson’s greatest achievement. Directed by Patrick Hughes, the film blends jungle-rooted action with elements reminiscent of the first Predator movies, following RASP trainees as they confront a giant alien robot.
Ritchson long has been identified with Jack Reacher, but War Machine elevates him beyond the role that made him a household name for Prime Video subscribers. He has appeared in supporting parts in big-budget films such as Fast X and Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, and headlined movies that underperformed like Playdate and Motor City; now he is the top-billed name in the world’s number one movie.
Plans for a sequel are already in motion. Ritchson has said plenty of sequel material exists and that a follow-up, preferably titled War Machines, has been extensively mapped out.
