Dutch regulators have ordered the crypto prediction platform Polymarket to stop operating in the Netherlands and warned it could face fines up to €840,000 if it does not comply. The Kansspelautoriteit (Ksa) issued a formal enforcement order against the operator, Adventure One QSS Inc., saying Polymarket offered illegal gambling services without a Dutch license.

The regulator set a penalty of €420,000 per week if Polymarket continues serving Dutch users, with fines able to reach €840,000 and additional revenue-based penalties possible later. Ksa highlighted heavy activity around the Dutch elections and said prediction markets qualify as gambling under Dutch law, adding that election betting is prohibited and can create societal risks, including potential influence over democratic processes.
