New Blood says Steam is most lucrative but ports to consoles for players

New Blood Interactive co-founder Dave Oshry says Steam is far and away the most financially viable platform for the publisher's games. He called porting to consoles "a pain in the ass" that yields "so much less" in sales than Steam.

Oshry told RPG Site that Steam lets you "do anything in real time compared to having to wait weeks or go through certifications." He highlighted the platform's flexibility versus the slower, more involved console processes.

Despite the economics and the extra work, the studio still brings its games to consoles to please fans. Oshry said the only reason they continue to port games is to serve players.
