New Ossiarch Bonereaper models changed my mind

I never really connected with the Ossiarch Bonereapers. They felt redundant next to the gothic Soulblight Gravelords and the ghostly factions that already occupy the skeletons-and-restless-spirits space, so I struggled to see what made them stand out. That shifted when the new models appeared at the New Year Warhammer Preview 2026.

The Mortis Reapers look lithe and dextrous, posed more like assassins than slow, marching legions; there’s an intelligence to their expressions and an implied speed that gives them genuine menace in a way the shambling Soulblight figures don’t. With the new miniatures now available for pre-order, they can be bought directly from Games Workshop or through third-party retailers such as Miniature Market in the US and Wayland Games in the UK, which often offer significant discounts.

Revisiting the rest of the range, the Ossiarch Empire’s idea of building purpose-made bodies from bones and filling them with indoctrinated souls reveals some strikingly odd designs.
