Nbc reports that Nick Sandow returned to Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in Season 27, guest-starring as D.A. Leo Eikmeier in the episode "Fidelis ad Mortem."

In the episode the squad discovered a cassette tape from an assault 27 years earlier, which led to the dead body of a criminal informant and an investigation that uncovered corrupt cops. Sandow's character, a former narcotics cop turned D.A. investigator, was revealed as the mastermind behind the conspiracy and was accused on the recording; his courtroom showdown involved a twisted narrative and many NYPD connections.

The SVU team, with the help of the very convict Eikmeier had arrested 27 years earlier, ultimately secured charges that ended his long run of impunity. The appearance adds to Sandow's extensive Law & Order history — the piece notes he has now appeared across eight episodes of the franchise and previously guest-starred on the original Law & Order, SVU, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Sandow is also known for roles such as Joe Caputo on Orange Is the New Black and recurring parts in American Rust and Clarice, as well as film appearances. Law & Order: SVU airs Thursdays at 9/8c and is available the next day on Peacock.
