Kotaku reports Sony Pictures Entertainment and Netflix announced an exclusive multi-year global Pay‑1 licensing deal that will see SPE’s feature films stream on Netflix worldwide after their full theatrical and home entertainment windows.

Netflix cited Nintendo’s upcoming live-action The Legend of Zelda as a specific example; the film hits theaters on March 26, 2027. The companies said some of the first SPE feature films to stream under the deal include The Nightingale, Sony Pictures Animation’s Buds, Nintendo’s live-action The Legend of Zelda, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, and Sam Mendes’ quartet of Beatles films.

The announcement described the arrangement as an industry-first for Pay‑1 and reiterated that these titles will arrive on Netflix following their theatrical and home entertainment runs.
