Novocaine Remains a Global Streaming Hit After Strong Reviews
Novocaine has become a streaming sensation on Paramount+. Since its March debut, the Jack Quaid–led action comedy shot to the top of the platform's global chart and, as of February 2026, remains the 10th most popular movie on Paramount+ worldwide. Despite underperforming at the box office with just $34 million worldwide, the film earned strong critical and audience praise.
It holds an 81% Rotten Tomatoes score and an 84% user score, and one reviewer gave it 3.5/5, saying it launches Quaid to action glory. Co-directed by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen from a script by Lars Jacobson, Novocaine follows Nate, who cannot feel pain, as he uses that ability to rescue his girlfriend after she is kidnapped during a bank robbery.
The cast includes Amber Midthunder, Jacob Batalon, Ray Nicholson, Betty Gabriel, and Matt Walsh. The film leans into its premise, balancing inventive action set pieces with moments of comedy.
