Report: Nvidia may unveil x86 CPU with Intel at GTC, but Intel says it’s years away
Last September’s surprise announcement that Nvidia and Intel had teamed up to build custom x86 processors for data centers and x86-RTX SoCs for PCs led to speculation about products such as Serpent Lake. Now Jukan on X, an analyst for Citrini, wrote that “Some sell-side analysts are expecting that NVIDIA may unveil an x86 CPU developed in collaboration with Intel at GTC 2026,” adding simply, “I think so too.” That claim is hardly ironclad; developing and validating a combined CPU–GPU package, plus the necessary software and firmware, usually takes substantial time.
The piece notes Nvidia itself spent years readying its Arm-RTX SoC for PCs, and suggests a rapid announcement of a finished consumer SoC strain credulity.
