Odessa A'Zion has been earning critical praise for her supporting turn in the nine-time Oscar‑nominated film Marty Supreme, and before that she had a breakout recurring guest role as Stephanie on CBS' sitcom Ghosts, a part she has played since 2021, Collider reports. Collider notes that A'Zion's performance in Marty Supreme has put her "on the map," earning her first major award nominations, including a BAFTA and an Actor Award nod for supporting actress; critic Ross Bonaime wrote she "earns the spotlight" and is "just as compelling to watch as Marty." Ghosts, which has five seasons available to stream, follows journalist Samantha (Rose McIver) and her husband Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) as they inherit a rundown country estate and interact with the eccentric spirits who live there.

The series, developed by Joe Port and Joe Wiseman and based on a U.K. show, premiered on CBS on October 7, 2021. According to IMDb, A'Zion appears in four episodes of Ghosts, introducing her character in Season 1, Episode 17, titled "Attic Girl." Stephanie — dubbed the "Attic Girl" and sometimes the "Mean Girl" — is a teenager who died on her way to prom in the '80s and often appears in a bright blue '80s frock; in her first scene she flirtatiously courts Trevor (Asher Grodman) and quips that, though she was a teen when she died, she is now 54 years old.
