OhSnap is shipping the Mcon, a Bluetooth gaming controller that uses magnets to mount iPhone and Android phones, priced at $150 after a year of refinements, ZDNET reported.

Kerry Wan wrote that using the Mcon involves placing a phone on a magnetic pad and flicking outward to reveal an assembly of joysticks and control keys beneath the top plate.

The review noted design touches including extendable grips, a kickstand and an optional $70 dock accessory that can mirror a phone screen to a monitor or TV for gaming at a distance.

Wan compared the device to a Sidekick, PSP Go and the Nintendo Switch and said the controller is pocketable; she added that, given the popularity of emulators and cloud gaming and the influx of Qi2-enabled Android phones, the Mcon feels timely. The controller is available to buy now for $150, with deliveries expected to ship in late January.
