Hull City striker Oli McBurnie went viral after being filmed violently vomiting on the pitch during the Championship clash with Portsmouth at Fratton Park. The Scotland international was hunched over and visibly struggling just as the second half was about to get underway, before projectile vomiting onto the turf.

Despite the alarming scenes, the 29-year-old recovered and remained on the field for the full 90 minutes. After the match McBurnie addressed the clip on social media, using self-deprecating humour to identify the cause. Posting on X with laughing and vomiting emojis, he wrote: "Might need to cut down on the caffeine gels at half-time." He indicated the episode was a temporary reaction to his energy supplements rather than a lingering virus.

Hull still navigated a tricky away fixture to claim a 1-0 win, with Matt Crooks scoring the decisive second-half goal and keeping the Tigers in the promotion hunt. Manager Sergej Jakirovic was frank about the team's performance: "We didn't play good, our performance was average.
