Olight iUltra mini: compact magnetic keychain flashlight with built-in USB-C
ZDNET reviewed the Olight iUltra mini LED keychain flashlight, a compact magnetic light with a built-in USB-C connector and a listed price of $29.99 on Amazon. The reviewer said losing an older keychain light in the Mediterranean Sea prompted the upgrade.
The iUltra measures 2.30 inches long, 0.65 inches in diameter and weighs 0.71 ounces. It produces up to 80 lumens, which ZDNET measured as a beam reaching about 90 feet and sustained for roughly 50 minutes. The body is made from anodized aluminum called OAL; after a couple of weeks on a keychain the reviewer found only very light, largely unnoticeable marks. Olight rates the light to IPX6 water-resistance and claims it will survive drops up to five feet, and the reviewer said their own water and drop tests matched the company's claims.
Charging uses a fold-away, built-in USB-C adapter so no separate cable is required; Olight engineers say the connector is rated for at least 10,000 uses. The magnetic charging base also serves as the on/off switch: snapping the light free turns it on and reattaching it turns it off, avoiding buttons or strobe modes. ZDNET's buying advice called the iUltra a next‑generation everyday-carry pocket light from a company with a history of quality, noting it is backed by a lifetime warranty and that $30 is a budget price for what ZDNET described as a premium product.
