"One Battle After Another" received the most nominations for this year’s EE BAFTA Film Awards, Britain’s top film awards, garnering 14 nods — one more than "Sinners." Both films are among five contenders for best film, alongside "Hamnet," "Marty Supreme" and "Sentimental Value." The film, which was the most awarded title at this year’s Golden Globes, and Ryan Coogler’s vampire movie "Sinners" mirror recent Academy Award attention: "Sinners" secured 16 Oscar nominations, the most in Academy Award history, and "One Battle After Another" received 13 Oscar nominations, the nominations announced last week showed.

Leading director nominees include Ryan Coogler ("Sinners"), Paul Thomas Anderson ("One Battle After Another"), Chloé Zhao ("Hamnet"), Joachim Trier ("Sentimental Value") and Josh Safdie ("Marty Supreme"); Yorgos Lanthimos is also nominated for "Bugonia." In acting categories, Jessie Buckley, Emma Stone, Renate Reinsve, Kate Hudson and Rose Byrne are up for leading actress, with Chase Infiniti also nominated for "One Battle After Another." Leading actor nominees include Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet, Michael B.

Jordan and Ethan Hawke; Jesse Plemons and Robert Aramayo are also nominated. The BAFTAs are widely seen as a bellwether for the Oscars because of overlap in their voting academies. Winners will be announced at a ceremony on Feb.
