Lab tests of 17 popular phones found the OnePlus 15 led battery life in both video playback and general-use trials. The iPhone 17 Pro Max matched the OnePlus 15 in general usage testing. Testing used two methods: a three-hour YouTube video with screen brightness at 100%, Wi‑Fi only, notifications off, volume at 50% and the highest refresh rate enabled; and a 30-minute general-use routine—10 minutes social media, 10 minutes gaming, 10 minutes video calling—with battery tracked afterward.

The OnePlus 15 recorded 98% after one hour, 94% after two, and 89% after three hours of video playback, and 98% in general usage. Editor Kerry Wan noted the OnePlus 15 was the only phone in the lab with a silicon-carbon battery, allowing it to store higher capacity in a casing similar to conventional lithium-ion cells.

Apple's iPhone 17 lineup averaged 97.3% in general-use tests, close to OnePlus' 97.5%. Not all models fared as well: the Motorola Razr scored lowest in video playback and the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold also underperformed.
