Onyx's Boox Palma 2 Pro is available now for $399, ZDNET said. The handheld E Ink device runs Android 15 with Google Play Store access, adds stylus support and a color Kaleido 3 display, and includes 5G connectivity in a hybrid SIM slot. ZDNET reported the Palma 2 Pro uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor and 8GB of RAM (up from 6GB), and it has a 6.13-inch backlit color screen, a 3,950mAh battery, and a textured body that reviewers found tactile.

The review noted the color display offers subdued, paper-like tones and several presets (HD mode for crisper images, Regal for e-books), but said color needs proper lighting, text can appear small or faint without optimization, and ghosting is expected unless refreshes are used. The device includes Onyx's Ink Sense Plus stylus with low lag, but ZDNET warned the small screen limits extensive note-taking, can cause palm interference, and places the quick button where users may activate it accidentally.

According to ZDNET's buying advice, the Palma 2 Pro is a compact, one-handed e-reader that gives access to multiple e-book ecosystems via the Play Store and is a notable update over earlier Palma models. The review said it is not suited as a standalone smartphone for carrier calls (though Wi‑Fi calling apps work), and that battery life can span dozens of hours but will drop with high refresh rates and maximum brightness.
