One of Hollywood's most anticipated events is set to kick off this Sunday, with some of the biggest names in the industry due to attend the 98th Academy Awards. The FBI recently released a report that said Iran allegedly planned to target the event with "unmanned aerial vehicles." Deadline shared the report sent to law enforcement, which reads: "We recently acquired information that as of early February 2026, Iran allegedly aspired to conduct a surprise attack using unmanned aerial vehicles from an unidentified vessel off the coast of the United State Homeland, specifically against unspecified targets in California, in the event that the US conducted strikes against Iran ...

We have no additional information on the timing, method, target, or perpetrators of this alleged attack." The veracity of these claims is currently unknown, though with the FBI getting involved, there must have been significant evidence of such a planned attack.
