Ousmane Dembele in contention for PSG return after two-week lay-off

Ousmane Dembele has returned to first-team training at Paris Saint-Germain following a calf injury that kept him out since February 17, when he was forced off in the 27th minute of the Champions League play-off first leg against Monaco at the Stade Louis-II. PSG still won that night 3-2 and progressed 5-4 on aggregate.

The 2025 Ballon d'Or winner missed three fixtures during a two-week absence — the 3-0 victory over Metz, the 1-0 win at Le Havre and the 2-2 draw in the return leg against Monaco — and rejoined the collective group after a period of individual rehabilitation designed to avoid setbacks.

Dembele took a cautious approach, moving from tailor-made drills to full sessions once ready, with coaching staff prioritising his long-term availability. The timing is significant as PSG sit four points clear of Lens at the top of Ligue 1 and prepare to host Monaco this Friday at the Parc des Princes; Dembele is now in contention for the matchday squad.
