Outlander Rises to No. 9 on Netflix Worldwide as Final Season Begins
Outlander has climbed into Netflix’s worldwide trending charts, landing at No. 9 just as the show’s final season kicked off earlier this month. Its presence on Netflix is notable given that the series originates on Starz, and the move appears to be driving renewed interest as viewers catch up for the concluding episodes.
The series, adapted from Diana Gabaldon’s novels, blends historical fiction and romance with a central time-travel premise: Claire Randall is swept from the 1940s back to the 1740s, where she falls in love with Jamie Fraser. That combination of strong source material and production value helps explain why Outlander is finding an audience alongside other popular streaming titles.
Starz has already expanded the franchise with the prequel Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which premiered in 2025, and a second season of that prequel is in development. Showrunner Matthew B. Roberts has suggested additional character-focused expansions could follow, depending in part on how the main series concludes.
