Overwatch's Nier Automata crossover prompts complaints about repeated skins
Nier Automata is joining Overwatch in a crossover whose reveal art was briefly shown in a now-deleted YouTube Short. The promo displays five new cosmetics and says the YoRHa initiative will kick off on March 10. There is no official confirmation which hero wears which outfit, but the art suggests a lineup: Lifeweaver appears channeling Adam, A2 wields an oversized sword, 9S holds a blue-tipped staff, 2B is paired with Kiriko's kit, and Mercy resembles a YoRHa commander.
Fans quickly noted many of the slots went to support characters and raised complaints about repeat skins. One top Reddit comment read, "At this point the whole Kiri skin thing is just genuinely funny to me," while others pointed out, "This is now Mercy and Kiriko's third skin in just four weeks," and joked, "Think of the poor Kiriko mains who went 5 seconds without a skin you heartless monster." A separate post highlighted that Kiriko and Juno now have seven and four crossover skins respectively, while long-standing characters such as Ana and Baptiste have none.
