Palworld lead defends Pocketpair amid claims it 'dgaf' about the game
Gamesradar reports Palworld's publishing lead John "Bucky" Buckley responded on Twitter on January 23, 2026 to accusations that developer Pocketpair "dgaf" about the game's future.
Buckley quote-tweeted a critic and highlighted recent activity, writing: "True, two free collabs, two unreleased spin-offs, plus still in early access (read: boogeyman mode) because we are fixing and patching issues. We definitely \"dgaf\"! We should drop 1.0 right now, add loot boxes, disable singleplayer, online only then shut it down in 12 months." The article also notes Pocketpair recently celebrated two years of Palworld with a teased 1.0 update that Buckley said will be the game's biggest yet, and that the studio invited Epic for a Fortnite collab.
Despite Buckley's defence, the piece says concerns persist because Pocketpair's Craftopia, which entered early access in 2020, still hasn't released its 1.0 update and "there's a good chance it never will" as Palworld appears to be the studio's primary focus.
