Paradise Season 2, Episode 6: We Need to Talk About Jane

After the near-reunion at the end of Episode 5, Xavier (Sterling K. Brown) and Teri (Enuka Okuma) finally reconnect, but the moment is brief. Episode 6 quickly returns to the chaos inside the bunker and centers on Jane (Nicole Brydon Bloom), whose chilling backstory drives much of the hour.

Before Jane was born, a message from someone named Alex Q predicted a killer would arrive at the exact date and time of her birth in 1997, the note sent to a Circuit City employee’s computer and pager to be passed to the mother. That idea — that Jane’s future had already been written — bolsters a growing time travel theory.

Other clues, like Henry’s foreknowledge of Billy’s nosebleed and Samantha siphoning power from the bunker, make the possibility that she’s trying to travel back to when her son was alive feel more plausible. Jane’s path is paved with neglect and early violence.
