Despite almost 4,000 hours in Path of Exile, I've never had a raw Mirror of Kalandra drop—the game's single rarest item. The new Mirage league might finally break that streak by changing how currency drops work and giving players fresh ways to farm high-value rewards.

Grinding Gear Games have altered currency drop rates across the board. As the patch notes put it, "Currency Items now account for a significantly larger portion of dropped items. This change is to allow currency rewards from slaying of enemies to be more competitive with other sources of it in the game." Mirages let you run a league mechanic twice, so Rituals, Harvests and similar content can be doubled for extra rewards; Harvests can periodically drop Crystallised Rancour.

My favorite tactic is doubling Destructive Play to spawn multiple map bosses—because the mirage counts as a separate instance you can add as many as six extra bosses alongside the map and mirage bosses.
