Paul McCartney Made a Hilarious Cameo in Rob Reiner’s Final Film
Paul McCartney turns up in Rob Reiner’s final film, Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, and fits neatly into the manic mockumentary. The former Beatle was one of many musician cameos celebrating the return of the beloved fictional rockers, and his appearance took on added weight after Reiner’s untimely death on December 14, 2025, making the sequel his final work.
McCartney walks into a rehearsal argument, cheerily asking if the band could use some help. David St. Hubbins asks, "Is that THE Paul?" and McCartney wittily replies, "It’s one of them!" St. Hubbins then dismisses his advice with, "we’ll take it under advisement," and later accuses the famously easy-going musician of having a "toxic personality." In an interview segment with fictional documentarian Marti DiBergi, McCartney praises the band’s comedy songs: "Anyone who can write about a flesh tuxedo and a pink torpedo… that’s literature, really!" The sequel is full of other music-world cameos.
