Peacock reveals first images from Crystal Lake prequel

Peacock marked Friday the 13th by releasing the first official images from Crystal Lake, the A24-produced Friday the 13th prequel series. The photos offer an atmospheric early look ahead of the show’s expected premiere later this year. Created by Brad Caleb Kane, Crystal Lake examines the origins of the franchise through Pamela Voorhees, played by Linda Cardellini.

The series focuses on the tragedy that shaped the legend of Jason Voorhees and on Pamela’s life after the loss of her son. The images emphasize mood over plot: a fog-shrouded lake with a cabin and dock, a blood-stained knife held in a hand, and a group of teens on the floor of a boathouse.

Cardellini does not appear in character in the released photos, which lean into the franchise’s classic summer-camp horror aesthetic.
