Pedro Neto sparked outrage after shoving a ball boy during Chelsea’s 5-2 Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. The ball had gone out down the right in stoppage time when the Portugal winger tried to restart play quickly and shoved the youngster in the chest as he appeared to be holding the ball, pushing him into a billboard.

Fans called the act "disgusting" and, while Neto avoided a yellow card, he may face retrospective UEFA sanctions. Neto met the youngster after the match to apologise and gave him his shirt, with team-mate Vitinha helping to bridge the language gap. Speaking on TNT Sports, he said: "I want to apologise.

I already spoke with him. It was the heat of the moment. We were losing, and I wanted to pick up the ball. I gave him a little push, and that cannot happen. I saw that I hurt him; I’m not like this… it was in the heat of the moment; I gave him my shirt. I have to apologise to him.
