Person detained in Nancy Guthrie disappearance after FBI releases footage
Pima County sheriff's deputies detained a person during a traffic stop in Rio Rico, Ariz., south of Tucson, and executed a search warrant at a location there with assistance from the FBI's Evidence Response Team. The department said the operation was expected to last several hours and gave no further details.
TMZ says the person is not a member of the Guthrie family; the Post reports the individual is a man. The FBI had released surveillance photos and videos showing an armed person in a ski mask tampering with Nancy Guthrie’s home security camera the morning she was reported missing.
Authorities say it is not yet clear whether the person detained is the same individual captured in those images. Nancy vanished after being dropped off by son-in-law Tommaso Cioni on Jan. 31 following a family dinner; she was last seen around 9:30 p.m. and did not show up to church the next morning.
