Wrexham were beaten 2-0 at home by Millwall and remain sixth on goal difference after losing to the side directly above them at the Racecourse. The defeat opened up a six-point gap in favour of the visitors and dragged Wrexham back towards the pack below. They were forced into two early substitutions through injury and, with only three substitution windows permitted in one game in the EFL, had to make their three remaining changes in one go in the 72nd minute.

Parkinson said at full-time: "I don't agree with that rule. I've said all along that if there's a genuine injury in the first half, you shouldn't then be restricted for your entries." On the injuries, he added: "Matty went in for a challenge, and he felt he'd broken his toe, so we brought him off.
