People reports Philippine Airlines released a six-minute, soap-opera-style in-flight safety video on Dec. 31, 2025, and the clip has gone viral online, garnering 4.9 million views in two weeks.

The telenovela follows a woman who is about to get married while also in love with another man, and it interweaves several plot twists with on-screen safety instructions; the airline called it the first "PAL Safety novella" on its Instagram. The video stars Kelley Day, Jay Gonzaga, Khalid Abdullah, Maritess Joaquin and Robert Seña, and it is directed by Marius Talumpas, per News.com.au. "We had to deliver regulatory safety information clearly while crafting a story compelling enough to hold one’s attention to the end," Caleb Cosico, the creative director behind the flight video, told the outlet.

The clip highlights destinations including Bohol, Boracay, Malcapuya Island in Palawan, Pangasinan and Albay, and was reportedly filmed at the heritage estate of Hacienda Santa Rosalia in Manapla, per News.com.au. The video has been playing across all Philippine Airlines aircraft and reactions have circulated online, with viewers calling the concept original and full of twists. The outlet said it had reached out to Philippine Airlines for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
