20 January 2026 — The Physics of the Cosmos (PhysCOS) program at NASA welcomed new members who joined its mailing list at the AAS Winter Meeting in Phoenix, AZ, and stopped by the PhysCOS table, and extended thanks to continuing subscribers. PhysCOS said it aims to help members become more engaged in NASA Astrophysics by sharing information on funding and observing opportunities, NASA’s plans for current and future instruments and missions, and how to advocate for priority science goals and the technology needed to achieve them.

The program also invited early career scientists to take part in a forthcoming Early Career Workshop. The announcement encouraged visitors to the PhysCOS main website to learn about Science Interest Groups (SIGs), persistent discussion groups focused on specific PhysCOS topics, and Science Analysis Groups (SAGs), short-term groups formed to research and report on defined questions posed by the NASA Astrophysics Division.

Slides and recordings from PhysCOS activities at the recent AAS meeting will be posted on the AAS 247 webpage. PhysCOS said it looks forward to speaking with members over the coming months, in person or virtually, and invited people to send an email for more information or to contact members of the PhysCOS Program Analysis Group Executive Committee (PhysPAG EC).
