Pi Core Team Moves 500 Million Pi as Token Falls Over 94%
Wallets labeled as belonging to the Pi Core Team recorded large transactions in early February, including a transfer of 500 million Pi from the PI Foundation 1 wallet to another internal wallet. The funds were not moved to exchanges. The activity came as Pi’s price has fallen about 25% year to date and roughly 94% from its all-time high, trading near $0.16.
Piscan data shows more than 193 million Pi will unlock in February, worth over $31 million, averaging more than 7 million Pi per day (around $1.1 million). BeInCrypto noted that trading volume on exchanges remains weak, below $20 million, and said heavy unlock pressure could add selling pressure.
The Core Team announced that more than 16 million Pioneers have completed Mainnet migration, around 2.5 million previously blocked accounts have been unblocked, and over 700,000 Pioneers will gain access to apply for KYC in the coming weeks. A reward distribution system for KYC validators is being tested, with deployment expected by the end of March 2026.
