Vibrant color has become a feature in itself across recent phone, headphone and wearable launches, with pink appearing frequently. Sony’s WH-1000XM6 arrived in Sand Pink, Nothing released a bubblegummy-pink Phone 4a and Headphone (a), Oura’s Ring 4 Ceramic includes a Petal pink option, and Apple has added soft pink to the iPhone 17e and Blush for the MacBook Neo.

Part of the shift reflects how devices have become extensions of the people who use them. Lucy Birley, who leads Nothing’s Color and Material Design & Strategy, said introducing pink gives users more ways to reflect their personality and moves technology toward expressive, optimistic colors rather than neutral tones.

Sony’s Sarah Houghton noted that headphones are now accessories for a broad range of listeners, so adding a Sandy Pink option helps reach new customers, and Oura’s Miklu Silvanto described the goal as making wearable tech as beautiful and expressive as jewelry.
