Plaud.ai introduced the Plaud NotePin S wearable and a new Plaud Desktop app at CES, expanding its lineup of AI note-taking products for in-person and online meetings. The NotePin S keeps the minimalist, elongated pill design of its predecessor and can be worn as a wristband, necklace, pin or clip.

The company said the release was improved to have "more seamless capture," and the device now includes the instant-highlight button previously available only on the Plaud Note Pro and Plaud Note; pressing that button signals the AI which moments are most noteworthy. The NotePin S retails for $179, $20 more than the prior NotePin model, and ships with a free starter plan that users can upgrade for additional minutes or more advanced AI features.

Recordings from the wearable and desktop apps are accessible through Plaud Desktop, Plaud App and Plaud Web as part of the Plaud ecosystem. Plaud Desktop can record online meetings and, the company says, offers a native recording experience that does not send bots to the call, unlike some competitors such as Otter.ai or Fireflies.ai.

The application detects meetings on platforms including Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams and allows users to begin a "secure, real-time audio capture," with options for multimodal input such as visuals and text.
