A Final Fantasy fan tackled one of the series' most infamous mini-games and made it harder by playing blindfolded. The skip rope game, taken on early in Final Fantasy 9 as Vivi, rewards players for skipping 100 and 1,000 times without tripping.

The achievement known as "Hail to the King" requires 1,000 consecutive skips, around eight minutes of precise timing, and changes pace at five increments—20, 50, 100, 200 and 300—with the 200 mark introducing a tricky double jump.

YouTuber Played To Completion not only cleared the challenge but pushed past it, landing 1,168 skips without stopping while blindfolded and relying on sound alone. He credited practice, muscle memory, a sense of rhythm and counting in his head, and said the run made him appreciate eyesight.

The stunt joins a growing list of extreme challenges inspired by FromSoftware fans, who have applied unusual rules—like playing on dance pads or with pets—to make familiar games far tougher.
