Pokopia’s creation tools are designed to let players rebuild society after an apocalyptic event, but some are using them to reconstruct familiar places instead. Twitch streamer Quenca is working in the free “Palette Town” area to create a near 1:1 version of Kanto from the original Pokémon Red and Blue.

The game’s simplistic art style and assets that resemble those from the Gen 1 games make the project feasible. Quenca aimed for an exact recreation but noted that scale calculations made a perfect 1:1 build impractical, so some routes are being adapted to save space.

Players can place tall-grass patches like those that spawn wild Pokémon, build Pokémon Centers and Pokémarts, and craft other structures by hand. The Kantopia project has reached Viridian City but may run into Pokopia’s hard 40-building limit as it continues.
