Stretching a budget to $15,000 opens many more used-electric options. The cars that looked good at $10,000 often look better one bracket up: facelifted BMW i3s (2018 and later) gained a larger battery for up to 114 miles (183 km) of range, or about 150 miles (241 km) with the two-cylinder range‑extender, and some examples include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto or can be fitted aftermarket.

Chevrolet Bolts remain strong contenders in this price band, and you can find a mix of pre- and post‑facelift models (with fewer Bolt EUVs). No aftermarket is required to get CarPlay or Android Auto on many of the Bolts available under $15,000, though expect low‑mileage examples and the usual tradeoffs: slow DC charging and seats that can be firm on long trips.
