Everything revealed in the Pokémon 30th anniversary stream
Pokémon marked its 30th anniversary with a livestream on February 27 that opened with a montage of footage and remarks from Pokémon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara, then introduced a Game Boy–style music player with swappable cartridges that look like Pokémon Red and Blue.
The presentation also recapped upcoming in-person events in San Francisco, including the World Championships tournament and a fan event running August 28 to 30. Several games received updates: the Trading Card Game will get new 30th-anniversary cards, Pokémon Go will bring back previously phased-out monsters for its 10th anniversary, and Pokémon Masters EX is adding the classic Red with Pikachu plus new versions of Florian and Juliana with Ogerpon and Terapagos.
Pokémon Café Remix will host an event to recruit the starter Pokémon from the first nine generations and add new outfits and 30th-anniversary decorations, while Pokémon Sleep is getting Mew missions tonight with Latias and Latios hinted.
