Pokémon 30th-anniversary rugs include Snorlax, Ditto and Pikachu
The Pokémon Company has teamed up with Japanese rug maker Miyoshi Rug for a limited collection of Pokémon-themed rugs to mark the franchise's 30th anniversary, including a giant Snorlax, Ditto, Pikachu's butt and a Poké Ball design.
The collection goes on sale March 8 at 9 p.m. JST and will be offered through Miyoshi Rug's dedicated store app.
Sales are handled via a lottery system that you register for through the app, which is in Japanese and requires a Japan address, effectively limiting who can participate.
Prices range from ¥5,500 (about $35) for the Poké Ball chair rug up to ¥110,000 (about $700) for the Snorlax rug; the Pikachu rug is ¥13,750 (about $88) and the Ditto rug is ¥9,900 (about $63). For now, the collection can be viewed as JPEGs in the online gallery.
