Pokémon Center adds 44 Ditto plushies ahead of Pokopia

The Pokémon Center has filled its new release pages with Ditto plushies made to look like many different Pokémon, arriving as Pokopia fever builds. As Pokopia got nearer to release, people noticed the human-looking character you play in this Animal Crossing–meets–Viva Pinata game is in fact a Ditto in disguise, which gives the new plushes a slightly peculiar, even creepy, edge.

Being a Ditto means it can transform into other Pokémon and objects, so a whole range of Ditto cuddly forms feels fitting. The collection is a bit odd because a few of these Ditto plushies have been sold before—I know this because I own a whole bunch of them—but the broader range now has those same Pokémon with new SKUs and new photographs.

The older listings remain marked sold out while the newer ones are available, which tempts collectors (should I therefore get another Ditto Mimikyu?). Joining the likes of Magikarp, Lucario, Gengar and Dragonite are Squirtle, Furret, Absol and Misdreavus. In total, 44 Ditto plushies have been added or re-added to the store.
