Pokémon Go 'Bug Out 2026' event guide

Pokémon Go’s yearly "Bug Out" event runs March 17–23, 2026, and brings the debut of Blipbug from Galar alongside the first shiny Sizzlipede. Rather than paid Timed Research, the event uses a Go Pass. On the free track, rank 10 grants doubled XP for catches with nice or better throws and rank 20 gives doubled catch candy.

The deluxe pass costs $4.99 and provides triple catch candy at rank 20. Hitting rank 30 on the free track awards a Blipbug encounter; deluxe rank 25 also gives a Blipbug encounter, while deluxe rank 30 grants a Dottler encounter. Blipbug will also appear in one-star raids during the event.

Blipbug evolves into Dottler with 25 Blipbug Candy, and Dottler evolves into Orbeetle with another 100 Blipbug Candy. Orbeetle will have a Gigantamax form debut later, so you may want to hold on to Rare Candy or Blipbug Candy until that arrives.
