Pokémon Pokopia Players Automate Their Towns
Pokopia towns have a lot of moving parts to keep running: generators need power, crops need water, and the Pokémon who live there often want improvements. Ditto ends up juggling many tasks, which has pushed some players to look for ways to automate routine chores.
Laser sensors sit at the center of early automation experiments. These motion-activated devices, made with PokeMetal, can be placed in front of moving objects to trigger chains of motion. One player created a proof-of-concept that uses sensors to open channels for water; once the flow starts it can keep operating without further input, and the right combination of laser, door, and water placement can shave off a lot of crop management time.
Even without complex motion rigs, players are finding clever uses for the game’s water physics. Some are using the waterbed garden in Rocky Ridges to flood crop plots by opening a gate, letting water do the work instead of using Water Gun on each patch.
